Bread Pudding - from old blog

Bread pudding (baked)

4 slices buttered bread, cut in cubes
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 - 1 cup raisins
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1-1/2 cups milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup nuts, optional
1 tablespoon soft butter

Combine bread cubes, sugar, salt, spices and raisins. Pour combined eggs, milk and vanilla over bread. Fold in nuts. Pour into greased casserole or baking dish (1-1/2 quart size). Dot with butter. Bake at 350 degrees for about 45 minutes. Serve warm or cold with whipped cream or ice cream. Serves 6.

You can also add chocolate chips or butterscotch chips and bake. Also a good fudge or caramel sauce over the top is delicious!
